Learn to Master Social Media in Practice

In social media, it’s all about trying things out, creating creative content, and getting smarter about how we communicate in the digital world. This elective is first and foremost hands-on: we play with different formats and platforms – from TikTok and Instagram to Facebook.

We experiment with how to tell the same story in several ways, so each post fits the platform it’s made for. What works where – and why? You’ll create posts, edit videos, add voiceovers, run polls, and capture moments. We talk about target audiences, visual storytelling, and what it takes to create content that people actually stop scrolling for. Along the way, we also look behind the screen: who’s watching? How many click? What can we learn from the stats? We work with reach, engagement, and trends – and explore why something is trending and how we can use that in our own communication.

We’ll also visit other subject areas, create content together with them, and talk about ethics and responsibility on social media: What’s good online etiquette? Where’s the line when it comes to what you share?
