Piano

Piano is for everyone

Have you always dreamed of being able to play the piano? Now you have the opportunity!

The piano is one of the most popular musical instruments, and there is a reason for that. With the piano you can accompany group singing, play your own favorite songs, compose new pieces of music and much more – and the best thing is that it will quickly sound like a lot! But there is no need to wait to see. Sign up for piano for beginners and get started right away.

In piano for beginners you will be introduced to the piano as an instrument, presented with elementary music theory and, not least, you will have time and opportunity to play a lot! We follow a joint curriculum, but quite quickly you will gain the skills (and courage) to explore your own favorite songs and learn to play them! In the lessons, all students have their own piano with headphones. This means that you develop your skills at a pace that suits you, while at the same time that you can talk to the others in the group about how they approach the piano.

Each lesson begins with a joint session on a new topic – for example:

  • How do I know which notes to play?
  • What does a pause look like in the score?
  • How do I know when to play the black keys?
  • How do I know which fingers to use?
  • What do strange words like staccato, pianissimo, da capo, crescendo, etc. mean?

You will learn notes, notations (chords) and how to place your fingers, and through this you will be introduced to the very basic elements of music.

In piano for beginners it is crucial that we create an atmosphere where there is room to make mistakes, laugh and experiment. We achieve this, among other things, by continuously playing for one or more of the others on the team, and of course you also have to hear the others play.

As a rule, the class is suitable for beginners, but you can easily join in and get a lot out of it even if you tried to take the piano once in 6th grade or even if you have tried to learn to play the theme to Pirates of the Caribbean using YouTube videos. There is room for everyone here.

Outside of class, you have the opportunity to practice on one of the many pianos available at the school. And who knows – maybe you will be the one who will have time to play at the assembly once before you leave school again?
