Rønde Folk High School is a boarding school for young adults aged 18-30. We have room for about 100 students and we are happy to welcome international students to our school.
As an international student, we aim to teach you the language, culture and ways of Denmark along with many other interesting subjects. You learn through classes – but most importantly by participating in student life along with our Danish students.
Life at Rønde Folk High School is a balance between engaging classes, social activities, and free time. The teaching is dynamic, discussion-based, and centered around topics that interest you. Because there are no exams, you are here to learn out of curiosity and motivation, not to perform or be assessed.
The goal is to prepare you for life—both academically and personally.
At Rønde Folk High School, community is at the heart of everything. You live on campus, sharing your experience with students from different backgrounds. Friendships made here often last a lifetime. Unlike traditional schools, you’ll also see teachers outside the classroom, participating in meals, activities, and discussions.

With lots of elective subjects to choose from, you can dive into new interests, develop existing talents, and gain a broader perspective on life.
In the morning and in the afternoon, before and after assembly, you attend the classes you have chosen. We offer a wide range of electives, allowing you to shape your own schedule based on your interests.
Each day before lunch, we gather to sing, listen to inspiring short talks, and share important messages. This creates a great atmosphere and a strong sense of community.
Our kitchen serves a variety of delicious, sustainable, and organic meals throughout the day. We offer special diets.
We eat together three times a day, enjoying healthy and delicious meals prepared by our in-house chefs. Meals are a social gathering where you have the opputunity to connect with other students and teachers.
In the evenings and weekends, there are events—some led by teachers, others organized by students. Whether it’s a movie night, a concert, sports, or a creative workshop, there’s always something going on.
Rønde Folk High School is located in a beautiful setting on Djursland, with the National Park Mols Bjerge right in our backyard.
